Yueqin Strings
The strings here are for the four-string yueqin: the Beijing Xinghai ones are sold singly and numbered 1 to 4, so you replace only the string that broke, and the Shanghai Yuesheng strings are the other option. The two-string yueqin used in Taiwanese ballad singing and gezaixi opera is a different instrument with different gauges, so confirm which one you own before ordering. Strings also go dull long before they snap, and once a set is more than a year old a single fresh string will sound obviously out of place beside three tired ones. If you are unsure what you have, send a photograph of the pegbox to our LINE account, @linsculture.
