Liuqin Strings
A liuqin carries four strings and the first is the thinnest and the highest, which is why it is so often sold on its own. The wound lower strings rarely break; they go false instead, so when the upper frets stop giving you a clean octave and the note buzzes under the finger, replace the set rather than the one string. Beijing Xinghai offers a professional third and fourth string alongside its standard ones, and mixing tensions across a set makes tuning harder than it needs to be. If you are not sure what is on your instrument, send a photograph of the pegs and the string ends over LINE at @linsculture.
