Tape

This tape is what holds false nails onto the right hand, for guzheng and pipa players. The silk version is thin and barely stretches, so the false nail does not shift and the contact with the string stays direct; the soft cotton version is a little thicker and gentler on skin, which matters over a long practice session. If you have not settled on one, the pack that combines one silk and one cotton lets you wear each in turn for a few days and decide by feel. Wrap only far enough to cover the base of the false nail, because every extra turn takes something away from the fingertip.
