Violin

The violin selection here is short and we can account for every instrument in it: the Brescia is handmade in a European workshop and comes with its certificate. A certificate is a statement of origin, not a valuation, and it is not what should decide the purchase. What decides it is how the violin behaves in a room, because the sound under your ear and the sound three metres away are two different things, so play a passage you know cold and have someone listen from across the room to the response of the G string and to whether the E turns harsh in high positions. Bridge, soundpost and strings all move the character of the same instrument, and our Taipei shop teaches violin, so choosing the instrument and finding the teacher can be one conversation.
