Fine Tuners

A fine tuner mounts on the tailpiece and covers the last few cents that the pegs will not give you. Check two things before buying: the string end, since a model marked Ball is built for a ball-end string, and the size, since 911044 and 911064 are specified for a viola tailpiece rather than a violin one. Every tuner you add puts a little more metal on the tailpiece and dulls the response slightly, so fit only the strings that genuinely need one. All black and black with gold are finishes; they sound the same.
