Description

Luo Shoucheng, a dizi and xiao performer, is a National First-Class Performer.
A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he later became a solo performer with the Shanghai Film Orchestra and the Shanghai Oriental Broadcasting Folk Orchestra. He has toured the United States, Singapore, North Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan on several occasions, giving many successful solo concerts; for years he has served as an adjunct professor and guest performer at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Japan's Chinese Music Ensemble. He was once invited to the United States, where in a century-old church he recorded dizi-and-xiao albums and qin-and-xiao albums such as Shattering the Plum Heart, Chant of Clouds and Water, and Prelude for Qin and Xiao, earning high praise from music circles at home and abroad. In collaboration with symphony orchestras, he has recorded several albums. Recently, the China Record Corporation has proudly released his double album of dizi and xiao music, Gazing at the Moon.
