Liang Xin, a dizi performer and composer, began his creative career in the 1970s and 1980s. His representative works include the dizi piece "Village Song," the suona piece "Feelings of Guanzhong," and the sextet "Imagery," among which "Village Song" and "Feelings of Guanzhong" have become classics in the field. In addition to teaching composition and arranging courses, over a teaching career in dizi performance that runs from the 1970s and 1980s through his retirement and re-engagement to the present day, he has cultivated many outstanding dizi performers, such as Zhang Yanwu, Liu Kuanren, and Meng Fanzhen. In 2011 he held the "Happy Reunion — Liang Xin and Students Dizi Concert" at the Xi'an Concert Hall. He is one of the important representative figures of the Chang'an dizi school.
