This book is a curated collection of personal pipa works by Sun Jing, a contemporary young pipa performer and composer.

The works featured in this book have received the following honors: In the 2nd "Dunhuang Cup" Pipa Competition in 2014, Sun Jing's pipa quartet "Early Spring" was used as a competition repertoire piece, and under the outstanding performance of the four players, it won unanimous praise from the judges for its pure tone, exquisite technique, and seamless coordination, ultimately winning first prize in the youth professional ensemble category. Over the following years, Sun Jing successively completed "Summer," "Autumn," and "Winter," which together with "Early Spring" form the "Four Seasons" pipa ensemble suite; among them, "Summer" won the Gold Award for Composition at the "Dunhuang Cup" Pipa Ensemble Competition. In 2016, Sun Jing's commissioned work, the pipa concerto "Master of Both Pen and Sword," premiered at the National Centre for the Performing Arts to great success.
