This "score collection" contains 124 pieces in total, divided into two major categories.
The first category comprises 76 suona pieces composed, arranged, adapted, and transplanted since the founding of New China. These works of various themes, genres, and performance forms mostly reflect well the real life, thoughts and feelings, and artistic pursuits of different eras. Most are teaching pieces commonly adopted by music academies and works frequently performed by arts ensembles, holding a certain historical place and social influence in the practice and development of suona performance art.

The second category comprises 48 finer traditional suona pieces (including operatic tunes and folk pieces) that are representative and beloved by the broad public. These pieces reflect the performance styles and artistic characteristics of different regions, schools, or individuals. Variant pieces that share the same name in the traditional repertoire but differ in style and performance form, and show distinctive expression in technical execution and artistic treatment, have also been suitably included.
